Discover Uoyakutei Japanese Restaurant

Uoyakutei Japanese Restaurant is a hidden gem nestled at 4408 CA-1, Pacifica, CA 94044, offering an authentic Japanese dining experience. As you step inside, you immediately feel transported to a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that’s both serene and lively, setting the stage for a fantastic meal. The interior is designed to reflect traditional Japanese aesthetics, with warm wood accents and minimalistic decor that complement the natural beauty of the Pacifica coast just outside.

The restaurant is known for its fresh ingredients, and this shines through in every dish they serve. One of their standout features is their sushi, which is prepared with precision and passion. Whether you’re a fan of the classic tuna rolls or something a little more adventurous, like their uni or toro, Uoyakutei delivers high-quality fish that practically melts in your mouth. The sushi is often praised for its balance of flavors and textures, with the rice perfectly seasoned to enhance the freshness of the fish. It’s clear that the chefs here prioritize quality above all else.

Their menu is expansive, offering a wide variety of options for those who may not be as fond of sushi. Tempura, yakitori, and ramen are just a few of the delightful choices that cater to different tastes. The tempura, crispy on the outside while tender on the inside, is particularly popular among regulars. It pairs wonderfully with a dipping sauce that adds just the right amount of flavor without overpowering the dish. For ramen lovers, their tonkotsu broth is a crowd-pleaser, rich and hearty, providing the perfect base for their perfectly cooked noodles. The rich umami flavor of the broth lingers long after the meal is over.

For those with dietary restrictions, Uoyakutei makes a strong effort to accommodate. The menu includes vegetarian and gluten-free options, ensuring that everyone can find something to enjoy. If you’re looking for a lighter meal, the donburi bowls are a great choice. They’re served with various toppings like grilled fish, vegetables, or chicken, all over a bed of rice, making it a fulfilling but not overly heavy meal.

One of the best parts of dining at Uoyakutei is the impeccable service. The staff is attentive without being overbearing, always ready to make recommendations or explain the menu if you're unfamiliar with certain dishes. Many visitors have commented on the warmth of the staff, which adds to the overall inviting ambiance of the restaurant. It’s clear that the team at Uoyakutei takes pride in providing a top-notch experience from start to finish.

The location itself is another reason to visit. Situated just off the scenic CA-1, the views are stunning, especially if you’re seated by the windows that overlook the coastline. There’s something calming about enjoying a bowl of ramen or a plate of sushi while gazing out at the Pacific Ocean. It’s the perfect setting for a quiet evening out or a special celebration.

Many guests appreciate the restaurant's commitment to using locally sourced ingredients. This not only ensures freshness but also supports the local community. Whether it's the fish caught off the California coast or the seasonal vegetables, you can taste the difference in the food. The restaurant also features a solid selection of beverages, including sake, beer, and a variety of Japanese teas, which pair beautifully with the dishes.

Uoyakutei has earned rave reviews from both locals and visitors. Its ability to deliver consistently delicious food, paired with a welcoming atmosphere and great service, makes it a standout in the Pacifica dining scene. While it may not be the largest restaurant in the area, it’s certainly one of the most beloved, and with good reason. Whether you’re a sushi enthusiast or just looking for a comforting bowl of ramen, Uoyakutei has something for everyone.

If you’re planning a trip to Pacifica, a visit to Uoyakutei Japanese Restaurant should be high on your list. The combination of incredible food, friendly service, and stunning views makes it a must-try for anyone in the area. It’s the kind of place where you’ll want to return, time and time again, to experience the full range of their menu and enjoy the warm atmosphere.

  • I personally don't like Japanese at all as I can't eat raw food and not a big fan of Sushi. I went with a few colleagues and they tried a few dishes and they all loved it. The beer was good and the dished were tasty I tried the shrimp tempura and they were really good so I imagine the rest of the food would be awesome too. I won't be visiting the place or for that matter any japanese restaurant unless they serve hibachi fried rice but maybe my friends would.

  • This was by far one of the best sushi dining experiences I’ve ever had. This location is super ideal for a fantastic intimate dinner with your friends and family. While obviously the finer things in life come with a hefty price tag, this meal was not just worth it, but worth coming back and bringing more people with you. Jenn was my server and she went above and beyond with her recommendations! Luckily I was here during happy hour from 4:30 to 6:00pm (dine-in only) so I grabbed an order of chicken gyoza, 12pc assorted sashimi, and a large Kirin beer. The chicken gyoza was soft & crispy. Every piece of sashimi was clean and cut perfectly. The beer paired everything together nicely. I will definitely be returning in the future!

  • Stopped here for dinner on a Friday night at 6pm. Still several tables open, so no need for a reservation. Food was good. Started with edamame and gyoza, both were tasty. We had the teriyaki dinners: chicken, salmon, and beef (ribeye). The flavors were good and food was fresh and hot. Dinner included miso soup and side salad, which were a nice touch. The ribeye was charred to perfection but parts were tough. The chicken isn’t a cleaned and light breast, but didn’t seem like dark meat. Salmon was overall the best of the three. Parking lot is small, but enough for this restaurant. Inside was nicely done and decorated.

  • Decent Japanese food, especially in the area! Weird how they didn’t share the WiFi info as there’s a QR code for ordering (and reception is horrible)…

  • We love going to Uoyakutei. They have the best Garlic Edamame ever!! Also try the Lion's King Roll, Beef Tataki and Shitake Roll. It's a favorite local place in Pacifica. Highly recommend it!

  • Fantastic! Lovely service. They let us sit down while waiting for take our. We enjoy hot hot green tea. All items were quality - and my group does not all enjoy the same things. Very importantly for my mom and for me - at least while I have some mobility challengeges - and my mom always down - they have accessible parking, ramp to restuaurant, and bathroom with grab bar. I was really appreciative. I've been to Rockaway so many times. We've never tried this restaurant until now. We'll be be coming back again -even it it's highter than our usual fare on our budget. They deserve every penny. Three cheers this place and its gentle, homey, welcoming atmosphere.

  • Wonderful staff, great service and delicious food. We arrived just as they opened up for lunch and we had such a cool experience: off-menu suggestions, being taught about the cuts of fish, and learning the proper way to eat them to maximize flavor. I would eat their sashimi and nigiri every day if I could!
